Twitter Marketing

You probably have an idea of what Twitter is about -  a microblogging site where you post your “microblogs” or “tweets” in under 140 characters. Your followers or people who happen to search your keyword or hashtag find your tweet and discover you. With Twitter, you and your posts can be instantly discovered by the world!

To use Twitter, make sure that your profile is set up properly. Use a good quality photo that best represents you or your business - it could be a logo or portrait. Your cover photo should highlight your current status, offer a deal, or feature a business mission. Once you are set up, follow the people or organizations you are interested in.

Now we can’t really talk about Twitter until we know how to use hashtags. These serve as links to your tweet and others. When someone clicks it, Twitter will show them other tweets with that same hashtag. This works well if you’re targeting a certain group or niche that shares the same interests with you.

“So what should I tweet about?” This is one of the top questions someone would ask about Twitter. Here are some ideas:

  • Follow the top influencers in your niche. Browse their profile and see what posts get the most engagements. Try to make your own version for yourself, and incorporate your own style.

  • Like (or “heart”) a tweet that you want to shortlist. It will appear in your profile, under the “Likes” tab. This way, you can go back later to these bookmarked items to generate your ideas.

  • Try to share an interesting article and add your comments to it. Give your opinion.

  • Create an interesting caption as you share your own blog post links. This can generate curiosity and increase traffic to your blog.

  • Take a photo of what’s happening in the world and give your commentary

  • Tweet something that is seasonal or unique to a certain occasion

  • Post with countdowns. For example, “5 days to go before [event]...”

  • Try to use GIFs within Twitter that will ‘humanize’ your tweets and show some personality.

Chat Bots

  • If you are frequently using Facebook Messenger or visiting websites, most likely you have already interacted with an auto chat or chatbots.

There’s a new saying, “chat is the new email and phone.” One reason why chats are so popular now is because of the rise of mobile phones. Chat works well with the small screen sizes of mobile.

When the only device you have is the one that fits in your pocket, you can’t help but to prefer to communicate in an environment where your thumbs can easily navigate a function in just a few clicks.

Unlike text messaging that we grew up with, chat has now evolved so rapidly that it has incorporated things like emojis, bookings, video, and augmented reality.

Chats are virtual systems of communication or programs that communicate to the user through a chat interface. It’s conversational, as opposed to how a typical letter works. Here are some distinctions of chatbots that you can consider in your marketing platforms.

    • Chatbots interact with a person in a natural language and with typical real-life expressions

    • Chatbots interact with some type of personality and do away with too much formality

    • This tool considers client sentiments: It can be empathetic, relaxed, excited, friendly, depending on the perceived customer reactions.

Here are some business websites with Chatbots:

    • Heek - a website that makes you websites, just by chatting!

    • Amtrak - chatbots help you book tickets

    • Troinet - the chatbot offers help and an option for an agent to call you

Pinterest Marketing

Why should you market your business on Pinterest? Because Pinterest generates leads uniquely. It has a unique algorithm (compared to the decaying nature of social media posts) and a unique platform. Pinterest has 320 million active users! Statistics show that its audience is around 60% female, and 40% male.

The audience in Pinterest is unlike Facebook who is mostly there to hang out with their friends. Its audience is usually there to get inspiration and generate ideas. They are there to consume, share, and visualize for their business, events, or hobbies. In other words, the people inside Pinterest are ‘proactive’, as opposed to ‘passive’ in other social media sites.

Why Pinterest is good for business

  • It can inspire your potential customers to act by providing ideas that will realize what they want

  • “Reach people early” - is a Pinterest slogan. You can ‘spark’ that bulb moment in the mind of your customer, and be there at the first step of his or her journey. Here are some examples:

    • Portrait Pins- if you’re a photographer, you can inspire potential clients what type of “image” and “feel” you can give through your masterpiece

    • Food Pins - if you’re a chef or entrepreneur, you can post eye-catching shots of your recipe, post on Pinterest, and let the audience do the marketing for you. Your “pins” can lead to your blog, landing page, to your FREE ebook, resume, or your recipes for sale.

    • Suit Pins - if you’re a fashion designer for men, posting captivating photos of male models will highlight your work, and generate leads.

  • When you provide good content on Pinterest, you have the potential to generate long-term traffic because, like search engines, you will be placed at the top for keywords that match your niche.

    • For example, if you’re a wedding photographer, you can pin your captivating shot of the couple, and put the title: “How to make perfect wedding shots.” Once you win the rankings, you gain a steady flow of calls.

Pinterest is a highly-rated investment for your business that can give you amazing results over the long-run when done consistently.
