TOP 5 ESSENTIAL GEAR FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS

Are you a photographer looking for the best gear to use for your business? Below are my top 5 favorite photography gear that has helped me take my business to the next level. Whether you are a beginner or expert, I recommend the following products below!

  1. Canon R6 Mirrorless Camera

I’ve always shot with Mark III and that was my favorite camera. I got the Mark IV and I didn’t love the color tones as much. When I switched to mirrorless, it became my favorite because it’s easy to do manual in camera setting changes while you are shooting. It was a game changer because the viewfinder is digital.

Since the viewfinder is digital, I can see when I am increasing my shutter speed, if it is getting brighter or darker, along with my aperture and ISO. It has made shooting in manual in camera super fast. I would recommend the Mark III or IV for anyone just starting out. This will help you actually learn your camera settings. Since you don’t rely on the digital viewfinder, it will become a benefit rather than a crutch.

2. 24-70mm Lens

My 24-70mm lens is my go to. It’s what I use all the time. I started out with a 35mm and then I used to only shoot with a 50mm. When I got the 24-70mm lens, I thought it was so crisp. I don’t have to change my lens as or waste time during a shoot because I can zoom up and get pretty close. I can also get a wide angle shot so its been my go to lens for all of my photography.

3. iMac Desktop Computer

After years of only using a laptop, I invested in my desktop computer. My iMac really helps my editing process because I can zoom in and see the pictures very well. I love having a desktop as a photographer because it allows me to view my photos at a large scale.

4. Seagate External Hard Drive

I feel the safest purchasing my external hard drives from Seagate. I use a 8TB external hard drive because of how many photos I shoot. Having an external hard drive has helped my computer run so much faster.

5. 64GB SD Cards

I used to shoot with 32GB cards, but 64GB has really helped me from having to change my cards too much. I don’t like going bigger than 64-128GB. I only have a couple of those cards because I get nervous if I lose the images. 64GB holds a lot of images, but it still forces me to change my card to have images on multiple cards, rather than having them all on one. This helps a lot to make sure I am changing my cards out.
